Team’s History
Formed in 1925 as Oji Skating Club by the employees working at Oji Paper Tomakomai Mill, then started their team history as Oji Eagles by participating in various competitions including All Hokkaido Corporate Ice Hockey. In 1931, the Eagles having gained recognition of the company for their improved ability was reorganized to Oji Paper Ice Hockey Team. Since their first victory in the 3rd All Japan Championship in 1932, they have captured 34 times All Japan and 13 times Japan League titles, and become the leading team in Japanese Ice Hockey in terms of both their history and overall record. Their last victory was in All Japan Championship three seasons ago.

About Home Town
The population is about 170 thousand. It has less snow in Hokkaido, and the weather is rather mild. The city is located as a hub of transportation systems of land, sea and sky having Tomakomai Harbor, and New Chitose Airport with major railroad lines, state roads and free ways. About 30 minutes from the New Chitose Airport.The city has been developed as a paper city and grew into an ocean side industrial belt, which is one of major industrial cities in northern Japan. In 1966, the city made the first in the nation declaration of "Sports City." So, the ice hokey to begin with, many other sports are popular throughout the year.
